1977 AMC Pacer D/L
AMC introduced the Pacer in 1975 to compete against the Ford Pinto and Chevrolet Vega in the growing U.S. subcompact market. Dubbed "the wide small car" the Pacer was almost as wide as it was long and offered an incredibly roomy interior. With what seemed like acres of glass and a vaguely fishbowl shape, consumers didn't warm to the styling and sales were an uninspiring 10,000 units per year. Pacer production quietly ended after the 1980 model year. Fast forward to 2011 and Vegas and Pintos have been nearly forgotten while the Pacer has established itself as an odd, unusual and fun car from a bygone era. This 1977 Pacer woody wagon features the "D/L" package which includes reclining seats, custom steering wheel, carpeted cargo wall and lift gate with skid strips, to name a just a few of the options. The correct Sunshine Yellow paint makes this car look happy and care free no matter what the weather. Power comes from a 258 cid straight-six engine with an automatic transmission. This car is also equipped with power disc brakes, power steering, air conditioning and an AM/FM with eight track player. Yes, the Foghat tape is included!
